Mount Vernon High School: Urbane Performance

This past Friday (December 16, 2007), Urbane performed at the Mount Vernon High School as guest group for the Gospel Knights. We met this amazing gospel choir last year when we competed against them at the Black Caucus of NY's Gospel Choir Olympics. They were so impressed with Urbane that they invited us to sing at their 2007 Winter Concert.

It was a great evening of talent---from step teams, praise dancers, a drum line and the Gospel Knights with Urbane. Pictures

The biggest news of the evening was that Harvey Lightfoot, of the Pathmark Gospel Competition, was there to watch Urbane. As soon as our students were finished with their main performance, he approached us and gave us the official invitation to compete in the Pathmark competition this February (it is a very difficult competition to get into and requires an essay, a ton of paperwork and an audition CD or DVD).

Excellent job, Urbane!
