The 22 Intermediat, Junior, and West High School students on the Speech and debate team attended the Shikellamy 36th annual BMW Tournament this past weekend. The tournament fielded 30 teams from across PA and had 350 participants. The team placed 6th in Varsity, and 10th overall. The following students placed in the tournament:

- Sarah Vansise, 5th, Varsity Poetry Interpretation
- Zak Pyzik, Varsity, 4th Lincoln-Douglas Debate
- Joe LoPresti, JV, 3rd Declamation
- Lisa Johnson, Varsity, 5th Persuasive speaking
- Kyra Tan-Tioncgo, 5th, JV Lincoln Douglas Debate
- Jason Silvestien, 5th Varsity Student Congress
- Andrea Giamis and Casey Fannell, 5th Public Forum Debate
The team travels to EL Meyers next week to compete in the 11th annual Martin Luther King Invitational Tournament.
